High Pie Pizzeria & Tap Room

High Pie Pizzeria and Taproom

Funky Pizza Place

High Pie is one of the few restaurants in the town of Telluride with plenty of elbow room. The main dining space has picnic tables and a dedicated game section for the kiddos, while the front of the restaurant is comprised of tables and chairs surrounding a massive bar. Although a pizza place at heart, it's a great place to catch a sports game and quench your thirst with one of the 24 craft beers on tap. If you're not a beer drinker, there are craft cocktails as well as a surprisingly large wine list.

The pizzas are themed around the ski area and resort with charming names like "Enchanted Forest' and "Triple Cork". Each is hand-tossed and strikes the perfect balance with enough heft to hold the toppings but a crust that is thin and almost cracker-like. Try the "Railjam" featuring house-made onion jam, prosciutto, local spicy Italian sausage, yellow bell peppers, Asian pears, goat cheese & parmesan, or opt for a local favorite like "Yard Sale", which is a classic supreme pizza slathered with tomato sauce and topped with pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, black olives, peppers, onions and mozzarella.

High Pie offers more than pizza, too. Items range from subs, soup and calzones to salads, while unique appetizers round out the menu. It might sound strange to find tuna poke nachos at a pizza place perched at 8,750 feet in a mountain town, but do not hesitate to order these tasty morsels. The plate is huge and perfect for sharing! Ubiquitous truffle fries are also available, as are wings and street tacos.
