Biking in Telluride

Telluride Prospect Loop

Bike Trails for Everyone

There are plenty of bike trails in Telluride for enthusiasts of every level. Beginners can choose to bike along the river trail from town across the valley floor or explore one of the newly-built trails in the bike park. Tommyknocker is a nice trail to start out on and can be accessed with a pass at the top of Lift 4. An ideal intermediate single track is Jurassic, which starts in Mountain Village and winds down across highway CO-145 through Lawson and back over to the valley floor. A perfect morning ride, it allows bikers to stop in town for breakfast or brunch and then take the Gondola back to Mountain Village. For experts, Prospect Loop is a good length - taking bikers from the Gondola Station San Sophia, across the ski resort, through forests and meadows before depositing them on Sundance for a thrilling ride down flumes to the Mountain Village market.
